After more than 30 years in the private sector, Merle Davis responded to God's call to vocational ministry, completing seminary training in 1985. He pastored small churches in rural communities in Western, South Central and North Central Kansas. Upon retirement, he and Winnie moved to Topeka where he took a leadership role in developing and administering the Central Region's Lay Pastoral Training Program. He also began serving as an interim pastor in the Region's Interim Ministry Program, providing interim leadership for churches in Wichita and Ottawa.
In February of 2008, Merle began serving as the Region's Interim Ministry Program Director. In this role, he gives leadership and oversight to the placement and training of our interim pastors.
Merle and Winnie have two children; a son in Lenexa and a daughter in Kansas City. They have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In his spare time Merle designs and makes fine hand-crafted pen and pencil sets.
