Prayer Emphasis
October, 2017

(By Rev. Tim Schwartz) — As we watch and hear about all of the devastation from natural disasters like hurricanes, fires, earthquakes and floods, let us pray for all of the people who have been affected by these terrible events. Let us remember also to pray not just for those in our homeland, but also the people of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Mexico and Nepal who are suffering greatly as well.

Let us pray that God would work through all of these difficult situations to bring help, food, clothing, and shelter to all of God’s people in need. How will God do that? Through all of us who believe in Christ and many others.

Let us pray about what we can do to help: give money, serve on a mission trip, send encouraging words and continue to pray.

Let us pray for all of the relief agencies who are bringing aid and for ABHMS who will be sending monies and ABMen who will help provide disaster relief in the months ahead.

Finally, let us pray for these beloved ones to feel the Spirit’s consolation, comfort and peace as they go on and rebuild their lives! Let them be reminded of this scripture: “For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, “Do not fear, I will help you.” Isaiah 41:13 (NASB)
