Prayer Emphasis
August, 2018

(By Rev. Tim Schwartz) — As students get ready to go back to school, let us pray for our children and youth. Give thanks for your children and grandchildren, but also pray for all of those children who suffer in any way. Whether they are enduring war or human trafficking or being separated from their parents or families, let us pray for them. Whether they are physically handicapped, developmentally disabled or have special needs, let us pray for them.

Let us pray for orphans, foster children and adopted children as well. Let us pray for children and youth who are being helped by Murrow Indian Children’s Home, Bethel Neighborhood Center, Victory Village and many other ministries across our Region. Let us pray for the children who are loved and cared for by our marvelous IM missionaries.

Finally, let us pray for all of God’s children, created in the Imago Dei who are members of the human family and scattered all across the globe, that help, healing and love would be shared with them by those who follow Jesus and love God! As Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.” — Matthew 19:14 (NRSV)
