How can you get involved in what God is doing in the lives of young people?

“Well, I believe that ‘missions’ is the new front door of the church,” says Rev. Julie Robinson.  “If young people can see the church getting their hands dirty in mission (tangible acts that demonstrate God’s new Kingdom), they will be compelled to join in.  One of the accepted cultures of their generation is making a difference in the world.  I know it is not unique to this generation, but it is an inter-generational bridge.  The young people in your life want to make a difference.”

Ask them how they want to change the world.  Invite them to come with you when you are doing something tangible in your community or church.

Other ways to connect: love them unconditionally, speak truth to them, but only after you seek to understand, write them snail mail (actual USPS mail), show up to their extracurriculars, text them scripture, show up when something significant happens in their life, feed them a meal (you may end up with conversation) or give them a scholarship to attend camp (it’s more than a week — it could be eternity with Jesus).
